Festival Program

BHANGRA RALLY
The highlight of the festival will be the Bhangra Rally, an attempt to break the world Guinness book of records, with the most number of Bhangra Dancers dancing in unity. Dressed in bright colourful Bhangra wear Bhangra Nation will make history in breaking the World Guinness book of records in Mississauga, Canada

THE MAIN STAGE
This promises to feature some of the best Canadian Asian pop music. Appearing this year will be Local and International Bhangra artists debuting from there latest albums

CLASSICAL BHANGRA
The 'rhythm and taal' stage presents world-renowned PROFESSIONAL Bhangra performers performing from traditional boliyaan (Songs) synchronized with the 'rhythm and taal' of the Dhol and musicians.

CANADIAN FLAVAS
An exhibition evolving the latest and most up to date Bhangra artists in Canada

STREET ARTS
Specially commissioned and presentation of South Asian Arts for the festival. Look out for In the Dhol Drums, the wandering Dhol drum in Mississauga presented in a uniquely atmospheric and colourful environment.

COMMUNITY STAGE
A stage dedicated to celebrating community arts and performance. This year, the Community Stage focuses on Canadian projects, with an emphasis on reminiscence theatre and dance.

GIDDHA NATION
This area of the festival dedicated to children and families. Among the many activities and performances, with and Exhibition of Giddha (Clapping) Save the Children will host a graffiti wall, encouraging everybody to draw, paint and scribble to create a unique record of the event.

ACTIVE MELA
Dance workshops, traditional Asian sports and alternative therapies are all available in Active Mela, the zone which promotes sports and healthy lifestyles.

THE BAZAARS and FOOD COURT
The colourful marketplace to delight all of your senses, with food from all corners of the globe.
